Abstract
The present invention provides luminaire light source assemblies incorporating LEDs as light sources for use in various lighting applications.

A luminaire light source assembly comprising:
- a gear tray;
- a plurality of light emitting diodes (LED) coupled to one or more surfaces of the gear tray;
- and
- a plurality of LED optics, wherein the light source assembly provides a standard horizontal illuminance of at least 5 lux from the luminaire.

A luminaire comprising:
- a luminaire light source assembly comprising a gear tray, a plurality of light emitting diodes (LED) coupled to one or more surfaces of the gear tray and a plurality of LED optics;
- and
- an outer optic,
- wherein the luminaire has a standard horizontal illuminance of at least 5 lux.

A method of replacing a light source of a luminaire comprising:
- removing the light source from the luminaire architecture;
- interfacing a light source assembly with the luminaire architecture, the light source assembly comprising a gear tray, a plurality of LEDs coupled to one or more surfaces of the gear tray and a plurality of LED optics, wherein the light source assembly provides a standard horizontal illuminance of at least 5 lux from the luminaire.
