Claims23
A ski for a snowmobile comprising:
- a body portion having an upper surface and a lower surface;
- a coupler configured to be attached to a spindle of the snowmobile;
- a keel formed on the lower surface;
- at least one longitudinally extending rib formed integrally as one piece with and extending upwardly from the upper surface of the body portion;
- and
- a plurality of projections formed integrally as one piece with the at least one longitudinally extending rib, the plurality of projections including at least three projections arranged in a row and extending upwardly from a top edge of the at least one longitudinally extending rib, the plurality of projections being configured to provide traction to an operator.

A ski for a snowmobile comprising:
- a body portion having an upper surface and a lower surface having a planar bottom portion, the body portion having a front end and a rear end establishing a length dimension of the ski and an inner edge and an outer edge establishing a width dimension of the ski, and a coupler configured to be attached to a spindle of the snowmobile, and wherein at least one of the inner edge and the outer edge of the rear end of the body portion includes a notched portion having a notch length dimension of at least one sixth of the length dimension of the ski and a notch width dimension of at least one fifth of the width dimension of the ski, the inner and outer edges of the body portion forming part of the planar bottom portion of the lower surface so that the notched portion is located in the planar bottom portion.
A snowmobile comprising:
- a frame;
- a motor supported by the frame;
- an endless belt assembly supported by the frame;
- a pair of steering spindles coupled to the frame;
- and
- a pair of front skis, each of the front skis being coupled to one of the steering spindles and including a body portion having upper and lower surfaces, the upper surface of each ski including at least one longitudinally extending rib formed integrally as one piece with and extending upwardly from the upper surface of the body portion and a plurality of projections formed integrally as one piece with the at least one longitudinally extending rib, the plurality of projections including at least three projections arranged in a row and extending upwardly from a top edge of the at least one longitudinally extending rib, the plurality of projections being configured to provide traction to an operator.

A ski for a snowmobile comprising:
- a body portion having an upper surface, a lower surface, at least one longitudinally extending rib formed integrally as one piece with and extending upwardly from the upper surface of the body portion, and means formed integrally as one piece with and extending upwardly from the at least one longitudinally extending rib for providing traction for an operator standing on the ski;
- a coupler configured to be attached to a portion of the snowmobile;
- and
- a keel formed on the lower surface.
