Abstract
The present disclosure relates to methods of making ceramic bodies using catalyzed pore formers and compositions for making the same.
Claims12
A method of making a ceramic body, the method comprising:
- combining at least one catalyst and at least one carbonaceous pore former to form at least one catalyzed pore former;
- subsequently combining the at least one catalyzed pore former with at least one inorganic ceramic-forming component to form a batch material;
- forming a green body from the batch material;
- and
- firing the green body to burn out the at least one catalyzed pore former and form the ceramic body.
