Abstract
A band saw machine which has an endless band saw blade hung around a driving wheel and a driven wheel rotatably supported by a saw blade housing that is capable of moving vertically. The band saw machine also includes a pair of guide posts for vertically guiding the saw blade housing between the driving wheel and the driven wheel, wherein an upper traveling part of the band saw blade is disposed at one side of the front and rear sides of the guide posts, and a lower traveling part of the band saw blade is disposed at the other side of the front and rear sides of the guide posts.

A band saw machine, in which an endless band saw blade is hung around a driving wheel and a driven wheel rotatably supported by a saw blade housing capable of vertically moving, wherein:
- a pair of guide posts for vertically guiding the saw blade housing is provided between the driving wheel and the driven wheel;
- a vertically movable actuator moving the saw blade housing in a vertical direction;
- an upper traveling part of the band saw blade is disposed on one side of the pair of guide posts;
- a lower traveling part of the band saw blade is disposed on an opposite side of the pair of guide posts, and
- a tension applier that applies tension to the band saw blade by moving the driven wheel in a direction separating from the driving wheel,
- wherein when viewed from a side of the band saw machine, a distance from the center point of each wheel to a closest surface of a guidepost is equal to or less than a width of each guide post,
- wherein when viewed from the side of the band saw machine, the center point of each wheel is located between the vertically movable actuator and each guide post, and
- wherein when viewed from the side of the band saw machine, the driving wheel and the driven wheel are inclined so that the upper parts of the driving wheel and the driven wheel are located to the rear of the guide posts, and the lower parts of the driving wheel and the driven wheel are located in front of the guide posts.
