Abstract
A fastener includes an elongated body having a first end and a second end, a helical thread having a crest, a root, and flank portions formed on at least a portion of the elongated body, and at least one protrusion extending from the crest and flank portion. The at least one protrusion is an axially extending V-shape of the crest, flank portions, and root of the helical thread with a peak of the at least one protrusion having a ridge that extends radially outward from the root of the thread.
Claims20
A fastener comprising:
- an elongated body having a first end and a second end;
- a helical thread formed on at least a portion of the elongated body, the thread comprising a crest, a root, and flank portions;
- and
- at least one protrusion extending from the crest and flank portions,
- wherein the at least one protrusion is an axially extending V-shape of the crest, flank portions, and root of the helical thread with a peak of the at least one protrusion having a ridge that extends radially outward from the root of the thread.

A fastener comprising:
- an elongated body having a first end and a second end;
- a continuous helical thread formed on at least a portion of the elongated body, the thread extending at least one revolution around the body, the thread comprising a crest, a root, and flank portions;
- and
- at least one protrusion extending from the crest and flank portions,
- wherein the at least one protrusion is an axially extending extension of the crest, flank portions, and root of the helical thread, the at least one protrusion having a pointed peak that extends from the crest to the root of the thread.
