Abstract
Pyrogenic titanium dioxide is compressed to slugs by preliminarily deaerating it, compressing it to slugs, and crushing the slugs and optionally classifying them. The slugs are characterized by a tamped density (to DIN EN ISO 787-11) of 500 to 1200 g/l.
Claims13
A pyrogenic titanium dioxide crushed slug having tamped density (to DIN EN ISO 787-11) of from 500 to 1200 g/l and a particle size greater than 200 μm and less than or equal to 20 mm.
A pyrogenic titanium dioxide crushed slug prepared by a process comprising optionally preliminarily deaerating pyrogenic titanium dioxide,
- roll compressing the optionally deaerated pyrogenic titanium dioxide to form a slug,
- crushing the slug, and
- optionally classifying the crushed slug,
- wherein the crushed slug has a tamped density (to DIN EN ISO 787-11) of from 500 to 1200 g/l.
