Abstract
Shock waves are applied to clean and sterilize fluids in containers and conveyances. Shock waves destroy pathogens and pollutants in blood, water, food liquids and other fluids.

A method comprising applying shock waves from multiple and sequential shock wave applicators ex vivo to blood in a containment in sufficient amounts to damage a plurality of pathogens in the blood, wherein two or more of the sequential applicators are different applicators targeting different pathogens.
