Abstract
A microfluidic method and device for focusing and/or forming discontinuous sections of similar or dissimilar size in a fluid is provided. The device can be fabricated simply from readily-available, inexpensive material using simple techniques.
Claims18
A device comprising:
- a microfluidic interconnected region of a first channel comprising an upstream portion defined by walls, a downstream portion defined by walls, the interconnected region having a dimensional restriction formed by an extension of a wall at the intersection of the upstream and downstream portions and at least one microfluidic channel inserted concentrically within the upstream portion of the first channel,
- wherein the extension is in a direction transverse to the flow of fluid in the interconnected region.
