Abstract
A circuit for actuation of a transistor. One embodiment provides an actuation output for connection to the actuation connection of the transistor. A measurement arrangement is provided for ascertaining a load current flowing through the load path or a voltage across the load path and for providing a measurement signal. An actuation current source having an actuation current output is connected to the actuation output and supplied with the measurement signal and designed to produce an actuation current at the actuation current output. The actuation current is at a current level dependent on the measurement signal.
Claims17
A circuit comprising:
- an actuation output for connection to an actuation connection of a transistor;
- a measurement arrangement for ascertaining a load current flowing through a load path or a voltage across the load path and for providing a measurement signal;
- an actuation current source having an actuation current output, connected to the actuation output, and supplied with the measurement signal and configured to produce an actuation current at the actuation current output, the actuation current being at a current level which is dependent on the measurement signal;
- wherein the actuation current source comprises a resistor arrangement connected between an actuation signal source and the actuation current output and supplied with the measurement signal, and having a non-reactive resistance value that is dependent on the measurement signal such that the resistance value increases for rising values of the load current at least for a prescribed range of values of the measurement signal,
- the resistor arrangement comprising at least two series circuits each having a non-reactive resistance and a switching element, wherein the series circuits are connected in parallel with one another and between the actuation signal source and the actuation current output;
- and
- an evaluation circuit supplied with the measurement signal and configured to turn on at least one of the switching elements in the series circuits on the basis of the measurement signal.
A method for turning on a transistor, comprising:
- supplying an actuation connection and a load path during successive actuation periods;
- evaluating a load current flowing through the load path or a load path voltage across the load path during an evaluation time during which the transistor is on, and providing a measurement signal which is dependent on the load current or on the load path voltage during the evaluation time;
- and
- setting an actuation current on the basis of the measurement signal,
- wherein setting the actuation current comprises:
- providing a resistor arrangement connected between an actuation signal source and the actuation connection and supplied with the measurement signal, and having a non-reactive resistance value that is dependent on the measurement signal such that the resistance value increases for rising values of the load current at least for a prescribed range of values of the measurement signal,
- the resistor arrangement comprising at least two series circuits each having a non-reactive resistance and a switching element, wherein the series circuits are connected in parallel with one another and between the actuation signal source and the actuation connection;
- and
- supplying an evaluation circuit with the measurement signal and turning on at least one of the switching elements in the series circuits on the basis of the measurement signal.
A circuit arrangement with a transistor, comprising:
- an actuation connection, a load path;
- and
- an actuation circuit, comprising:
- an actuation output for connection to the actuation connection of the transistor;
- a measurement arrangement for ascertaining a load current flowing through the load path or a voltage across the load path and for providing a measurement signal;
- an actuation current source having an actuation current output, connected to the actuation output, and supplied with the measurement signal and configured to produce an actuation current at the actuation current output, the actuation current being at a current level dependent on the measurement signal;
- wherein the actuation current source comprises a resistor arrangement connected between an actuation signal source and the actuation current output and supplied with the measurement signal, and having a non-reactive resistance value that is dependent on the measurement signal such that the resistance value increases for rising values of the load current at least for a prescribed range of values of the measurement signal,
- the resistor arrangement comprising at least two series circuits each having a non-reactive resistance and a switching element, wherein the series circuits are connected in parallel with one another and between the actuation signal source and the actuation current output;
- and
- an evaluation circuit supplied with the measurement signal and configured to turn on at least one of the switching elements in the series circuits on the basis of the measurement signal.
