Abstract
A process for producing increased service life of organic, electro-optical elements is provided. The process includes the steps of: providing a substrate, applying a first conductive layer, applying at least one layer that includes at least one organic, electro-optical material, applying a second conductive layer, and depositing at least one layer with a vitreous structure.

A process for producing an organic, electro-optical element, comprising the steps of:
- providing a substrate,
- applying a first conductive layer,
- applying at least one layer which includes at least one organic, electro-optical material,
- applying a second conductive layer, and
- depositing at least one layer with a vitreous structure comprising an alkali-metal containing borosilicate glass,
- wherein the step of depositing at least one layer with a vitreous structure comprises the step of electron beam evaporation coating to produce a layer with a vitreous structure.
A process for producing an organic, electro-optical element, comprising the steps of:
- providing a substrate,
- applying a first conductive layer,
- applying at least one layer which includes at least one organic, electro-optical material,
- applying a second conductive layer, and
- depositing at least one layer with a vitreous structure, wherein the step of depositing at least one layer with a vitreous structure comprises the step of depositing an alkali-metal containing borosilicate glass having a hydrolytic resistance class in accordance with ISO 719 of 1 or 2.
An organic electro-optical element, comprising:
- a substrate,
- a first conductive layer,
- at least one layer which includes at least one organic, electro-optical material,
- a second conductive layer, and
- at least one deposited layer with a vitreous structure comprising an alkali-metal containing borosilicate glass,
- wherein the at least one deposited layer with a vitreous structure is applied by evaporation coating.
An organic electro-optical element, comprising:
- a substrate,
- a first conductive layer,
- at least one layer which includes at least one organic, electro-optical material,
- a second conductive layer, and
- at least one deposited layer with a vitreous structure, wherein the at least one deposited layer with a vitreous structure comprises an alkali-metal containing borosilicate glass having a hydrolytic resistance class in accordance with ISO 719 of 1 or 2.
