Abstract
By a temper treatment a polyaryletherketone powder is processed such that it is particularly suited for the use in a method for a layer-wise manufacturing of a three-dimensional object. To this effect the powder is tempered at a temperature that is at least 20° C. above the glass transition temperature for at least 30 minutes before it is used as building material.
Claims17
Polyaryletherketone(PAEK) fine powder for the use as building material in a method for a layer-wise generation of three-dimensional objects, wherein the PAEK fine powder has a melt viscosity that lies below 0.25 kN*s/m2, a D0.90-value below 150 μm, a BET surface below 40 m2/g and a bulk density having a value equal to or larger than 0.42 g/cm2.
Polyaryletherketone(PAEK) fine powder for the use as building material in a method for a layer-wise generation of three-dimensional objects, wherein the PAEK fine powder has a melt viscosity between 0.25 kN*s/m2 and 0.50 kN*s/m2, a D0.90-value below 150 μm, a BET surface below 40 m2/g and a bulk density having a value which is equal to or larger than 0.39 g/cm2.
Polyaryletherketone(PAEK) fine powder for the use as building material in a method for a layer-wise generation of three-dimensional objects, wherein the PAEK fine powder has a melt viscosity above 0.50 kN*s/m2, a D0.90-value below 150 μm, a BET surface below 40 m2/g and a bulk density having a value that is equal to or larger than 0.34 g/cm2.
Method for a layer-wise manufacturing of a three-dimensional object from a material in powder form, in which successive layers of the object to be formed from a solidifiable powder material are successively solidified at positions corresponding to the cross-section of the object and wherein before the start of the manufacturing process the powder is treated by exposing the powder to a temperature that lies at least 20° above a glass transition temperature determined by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) according to DIN 53765 for a period that is longer than 30 minutes, wherein the powder has been manufactured by grinding, a precipitation process from a solvent, melt spraying or spray drying from a coarse powder or granulate.
