Abstract
A heat exchanger may be cleaned by introducing compressed nitrogen and a flushing composition through an injection device.

A method for cleaning the interior surface of a heat exchanger comprising introducing under pressure a mixture of a gaseous stream and a liquid flushing composition through a delivery vessel and propelling the mixture through an outlet port of the delivery vessel onto the interior surface of the heat exchanger, wherein the delivery vessel has a central tube having a bottom port for entry of the liquid flushing composition and a side port at the upper portion of the central tube for entry of the gaseous stream.
