Abstract
The present disclosure includes various method, device, and system embodiments for meat processing. One such method embodiment includes obtaining animal data for an animal selected to have a solution introduced into its circulatory system in a rinsing process and determining an insertion location based on the animal data. This method embodiment also includes establishing a fluid conduit from a reservoir through the insertion location into the circulatory system of the selected animal by inserting a cannula in fluid communication with the reservoir through the insertion location. The method further includes activating flow of a solution from the reservoir through the fluid conduit to introduce the solution into the circulatory system of the animal.
Claims20
A method for meat processing comprising:
- determining an insertion location based on animal data corresponding to an animal selected to have a solution introduced into its circulatory system in a rinsing process;
- inserting a cannula through the insertion location, the cannula being in fluid communication with a fluid source;
- and
- introducing a solution from the fluid source into the circulatory system of the selected animal by activating flow of the solution from the fluid source and through the cannula.
A method for meat processing comprising:
- selecting an animal to have a solution introduced into a heart of the animal in a rinsing process;
- determining a heart location of the selected animal through use of at least one sensor;
- establishing a fluid conduit from a reservoir into the heart of the selected animal by inserting a cannula in fluid communication with the reservoir through an insertion location;
- and
- introducing a solution into the heart of the animal through the fluid conduit.
A system to inject fluid into a circulatory system of an animal in a meat processing rinse comprising:
- at least one subsystem to determine an insertion location;
- an insertion device including a flow controller to control flow of a rinse solution through a cannula and into the circulatory system;
- and
- a computing device coupled to the at least one subsystem and to the insertion device, the computing device having executable instructions storable thereon and executable thereby to operate the insertion device to:
- insert the cannula into the circulatory system of the animal based on the determined insertion location;
- and
- activate the flow of the rinse solution.
