Abstract
A computer implemented system comprises a remote industrial factory automation control system tool stored in a non-transitory computer readable media that, when executed by a processor, configures the processor to modify a web browser to include a control object; request industrial factory automation control system data from a local control system; receive the industrial factory automation control system data; display, by the web browser, the industrial factory automation control system data; and send control instructions to the local control system.
Claims18
A computer implemented system, comprising:
- a remote industrial factory automation control system tool stored in a non-transitory computer readable media that, when executed by a processor, configures the processor to:
- modify a web browser to include a control object;
- request industrial factory automation control system data from a local control system;
- receive the industrial factory automation control system data;
- display, by the web browser, the industrial factory automation control system data;
- send control instructions to the local control system for the control object to request, receive, and manipulate said control system data;
- wherein the control object comprises an ActiveX control object;
- and
- wherein the remote industrial factory automation control system tool further configures the processor to:
- create a local server by modifying a local runtime application using the ActiveX object;
- provide an ActiveX object to host the local server;
- and
- execute the local server from the remote control system.
