Abstract
A region of interest is identified by user selection. Multiple regions of interest may be identified. An image processing region is identified by adding additional spatial locations to a region of interest. The image processing region of interest is then used for image processing.
Claims19
A method for identifying an image processing region, the method comprising:
- acquiring an image representing a scanned region of tissue;
- (a) identifying a two or three-dimensional region of interest within the image, the two or three-dimensional region of interest having a border enclosing an area or volume;
- (b) identifying the image processing region as the region of interest and at least one other spatial location contiguous with the region of interest, the image processing region being a spatial expansion of the region of interest;
- (c) image processing, by a processor, selected from the group of:
- calculating a diagnostic quantity, enhancing the image, enhancing another image, generating a parametric image or combinations thereof based on calculations using data representing locations, including the at least one other spatial location, in the image processing region;
- and
- displaying as a function of the image processing.
