Abstract
This application provides techniques for a mobile station (MS) to determine whether a base station (BS) successfully receives a response to a BS request for the MS to enter an idle mode.
Claims20
A method for wireless communications, comprising:
- receiving a request from a base station (BS) to enter idle mode;
- sending a response to the BS indicating acceptance of the request to enter idle mode;
- sending a location update request to the BS to confirm successful receipt of the response by the BS;
- and
- determining if the response indicating acceptance of the request to enter idle mode was successfully received by the BS, based on a response to the location update request sent by the BS or a lack of response to the location update request sent by the BS.
An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:
- logic for receiving a request from a base station (BS) to enter idle mode;
- logic for sending a response to the BS indicating acceptance of the request to enter idle mode;
- logic for sending a location update request to the BS to confirm successful receipt of the response by the BS;
- and
- logic for determining if the response indicating acceptance of the request to enter idle mode was successfully received by the BS, based on a response to the location update request sent by the BS or a lack of response to the location update request sent by the BS.
An apparatus for wireless communications, comprising:
- means for receiving a request from a base station (BS) to enter idle mode;
- means for sending a response to the BS indicating acceptance of the request to enter idle mode;
- means for sending a location update request to the BS to confirm successful receipt of the response by the BS;
- and
- means for determining if the response indicating acceptance of the request to enter idle mode was successfully received by the BS, based on a response to the location update request sent by the BS or a lack of response to the location update request sent by the BS.
A computer-program product for wireless communications, comprising a non-transitory computer readable medium having instructions stored thereon, the instructions being executable by one or more processors and the instructions comprising:
- instructions for receiving a request from a base station (BS) to enter idle mode;
- instructions for sending a response to the BS indicating acceptance of the request to enter idle mode;
- instructions for sending a location update request to the BS to confirm successful receipt of the response by the BS;
- and
- instructions for determining if the response indicating acceptance of the request to enter idle mode was successfully received by the BS, based on a response to the location update request sent by the BS or a lack of response to the location update request sent by the BS.
