Abstract
The present invention relates to one or more peptides which may be used to test for the presence of antibodies to B. microti. These peptide are selected based on the strength and specificity of the human antibody response to B. microti. These peptides alone or in combination have a variety of uses, for example, as a component of a diagnostic assay or kit.
Claims11
An agent selected from the group consisting of the following:
- (a) a first peptide and an optional second peptide, wherein said first peptide consists of a sequence as set forth in SEQ ID NO:7;
- (b) a chimeric protein consisting of said first peptide and a second peptide;
- and
- (c) a fusion protein consisting of a first portion and a second portion, wherein the first portion is a protein according to
- (b) and the second portion is a binding member.
An agent comprising a chimeric protein, wherein said chimeric protein comprises a first peptide and a second peptide, and wherein said chimeric protein comprises the sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 2.
An agent comprising a fusion protein, wherein said fusion protein comprises a first and a second portion, wherein said first portion is a chimeric protein comprising a first peptide and a second peptide and said second portion is a binding member, and wherein said fusion protein comprises the sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 4.
