Methods and apparatus for translating a continuous-delivery delivery profile into a plurality of periodic bolus deliveries.
Claims21
A method comprising the steps of:
- receiving one or more infusion parameters that define a continuous-delivery delivery profile with an ambulatory infusion device programming unit;
- and
- translating the continuous-delivery delivery profile into a plurality of periodic boluses with the ambulatory infusion device programming unit.
A programming unit for use with an ambulatory infusion device, the programming unit comprising:
- means for storing a continuous-delivery delivery profile;
- and
- means for translating the continuous-delivery delivery profile into a periodic bolus profile including a plurality of periodic boluses separated by time intervals;
- and
- means for transmitting the periodic bolus profile to the ambulatory infusion device.
