Solid state lighting device using heat channels in a housing

A light assembly comprising:

• a cover;
• a base;
• a housing coupled between the cover and the base;
• a first circuit board disposed within the housing, said first circuit board having a plurality of light sources thereon;
• said housing comprising an inner wall defining a first volume therein and an outer wall spaced apart from the inner wall, said housing comprising a plurality of spaced apart fins extending between the inner wall and the outer wall define a plurality of channels having a first end proximate the cover and a second end proximate the base, said channels have a first cross sectional area proximate said first end greater than a second cross-sectional area proximate the second end;
• and
• an elongated control circuit board assembly electrically coupled to the light sources of the first circuit board and the base, said control circuit board having a plurality of electrical components thereon for controlling the light sources.
