Abstract
One method of ink formulation may include providing a shipping material in a reservoir of a printing mechanism, placing a concentrated ink in communication with the reservoir, and mixing the shipping material and the concentrated ink together to create a print-ready ink.
Claims17
A method for formulating ink comprising:
- providing a shipping material having a first amount of colorant;
- providing a concentrated ink having a second amount of colorant;
- mixing the shipping material and the concentrated ink to form a print-ready ink,
- wherein the first amount of colorant by weight is 0.5 to 3% and less than the second amount of colorant by weight and the print-ready ink has more colorant than the shipping material but less colorant than the concentrated ink by weight.

An ink composition comprising:
- a shipping material having a first amount of colorant;
- and
- a concentrated ink having a second amount of colorant;
- wherein the shipping material and the concentrated ink are mixed to form a print-ready ink, and wherein the first amount of colorant by weight is 0.5 to 3% and less than the second amount of colorant by weight and the print-ready ink has more colorant than the shipping material but less colorant than the concentrated ink by weight.
