Mobile wireless communications device comprising multi-frequency band antenna and related methods

A mobile wireless communications device comprising:

• a housing;
• wireless transceiver circuitry carried by said housing;
• and
• an antenna coupled to said wireless transceiver circuitry and comprising
• a loop conductor defining an interior area and also having a gap therein defining first and second ends of said loop conductor,
• a first branch conductor having a first end coupled adjacent the first end of said loop conductor,
• a second branch conductor having a first end coupled adjacent the second end of said loop conductor, and
• a third branch conductor having a first portion within the interior area of said loop conductor, and a second portion extending outwardly from said loop conductor,
• at least one of said first, second, and third branch conductors comprising a tuning feature therein.

A method for making an antenna for a mobile wireless communications device comprising a housing and wireless circuitry carried thereby, the method comprising:

• forming a loop conductor defining an interior and also having a gap therein defining first and second ends of the loop conductor;
• forming a first branch conductor having a first end coupled adjacent the first end of the loop conductor and having a second end defining a first feed point;
• forming a second branch conductor having a first end coupled adjacent the second end of the loop conductor and a second end defining a second feed point;
• and
• forming a third branch conductor having a first portion within the interior area of the loop conductor, and a second portion extending outwardly from the loop conductor.
