Abstract
The invention relates to image focus. In particular, it relates to a focus assist system that conveys focus level data to a user. There are a wide variety of different display methods, including, but not limited to, graphs, highlights, symbols, and varied levels of brightness or color.
Claims44
A method of providing feedback to allow focusing an image in real time, comprising:
- using a programmed algorithm operating on one or more processors to determine a degree of focus of a plurality of regions of an image;
- and
- providing, on an electronic display, a visual indication of the degree of focus corresponding to each region.
A method for assisting the adjusting of a focus of an image, comprising:
- detecting an image;
- applying an algorithm operating on one or more processors to determine a degree of focus of a plurality of regions of the image;
- providing a visual display indicative of the degree of focus corresponding to each of the plurality of regions;
- and
- updating the visual display in substantially real time.
A method of providing feedback to a user of a camera to allow focusing of an image in real time, comprising:
- detecting an image with an image sensor;
- applying an algorithm to determine a focus level of a plurality of regions of the detected image;
- displaying the detected image;
- and
- superimposing a visual indication of the focus level corresponding to each of the plurality of regions over the displayed image.
An apparatus for providing feedback to allow focusing of an image in real time, comprising:
- an image sensor configured to detect an image;
- an electronic display;
- and
- one or more processors configured to execute a programmed algorithm to determine a degree of focus of a plurality of regions of the image, wherein the electronic display displays the visual indication of the degree of focus corresponding to each region.
