Abstract
Embodiments of the invention include methods and compositions involving aldose reductase inhibitors for the treatment of inflammation, including uveitis and asthma.
Claims8
A method of treating asthma comprising administering to a subject in need thereof an effective amount of a pharmaceutically acceptable composition comprising a small molecule aldose reductase inhibitor selected from the group consisting of epalrestat, ponalrestat, risarestat, imirestat, zopolrestat, minalrestat and fidarestat, wherein the aldose reductase inhibitor is not being administered for the treatment of diabetes.
