Use of estriol in low doses

A method for treating urogenital atrophy due to estrogen deficit in women comprising administering to a patient in need thereof a therapeutically effective amount of a pharmaceutical composition for vaginal administration, wherein said composition is administered such that the patient receives a dose of estriol between 0.002 and 0.3 mg/day;

• and wherein the administration is daily or in a regimen of once every two days, once every three days or once a week or twice a week, for at least 3 weeks.
