Abstract
The invention relates to the use of a binding member which binds to LewisY and Lewisb haptens in the treatment of tumours and leukaemia. The binding member may be an antibody which binds to LewisY and Lewisb haptens and cancer cells and induces cells death.
Claims15
A method of treatment of a tumor in a patient, wherein the tumor expresses both Lewisy and Lewisb antigens, comprising:
- administering to the patient an effective amount of a naked antibody or fragment thereof, in combination with an active agent, wherein the antibody or fragment thereof binds to both Lewisy and Lewisb haptens and does not bind to H blood group antigen wherein the antibody comprises all the complementarity determining regions (CDRs) of the antibody produced by the cell line deposited as ECACC Accession No. 01050118.
A method of treating a tumor in a human patient, wherein the tumor expresses both Lewisy and Lewisb antigens, comprising:
- administering to the human patient an effective amount of an isolated antibody or fragment thereof comprising all the complementarity determining regions (CDRs) of the antibody produced by the cell line deposited as ECACC Accession No. 01050118, which antibody or fragment thereof specifically binds to both Lewisy and Lewisb haptens and does not bind to H blood group hapten.
A method of treating a tumor in a human patient, wherein the tumor expresses both Lewisy and Lewisb antigens, comprising:
- administering to the human patient an effective amount of an isolated antibody fragment comprising all the complementarity determining regions (CDRs) produced by a cell line deposited as ECACC Accession No. 01050118, characterized by specifically binding to Lewisy and Lewisb and not binding to Lewisx.
01050118, characterized by specifically binding to Lewisy and Lewisb and not binding to H blood group antigen by thin layer chromatography.
