Abstract
A particle includes a ferromagnetic material, a radiopaque material, and/or an MRI-visible material.
Claims20
A particle, comprising a polymeric matrix and a ferromagnetic material distributed in the polymeric matrix, wherein the particle has a diameter of about 3,000 microns or less, the particle has a center region with a certain density of large pores having a mean cross-section of 20 microns or more and a surface region with a certain density of large pores, and the density of large pores of the center region is greater than the density of large pores of the surface region.
A method, comprising:
- heating a plurality of particles disposed in a body lumen, wherein the particles comprise a polymeric matrix and a ferromagnetic material distributed in the polymeric matrix, the particles have a diameter of 3,000 microns or less, and the particles have a center region with a certain density of large pores having a mean cross-section of 20 microns or more and a surface region with a certain density of large pores, and the density of large pores in the center region is greater than the density of large pores of the surface region.
