Abstract
A technique for tested is disclosed herein. A low-density parity-check (LDPC) code is received. For the received LDPC code, an error rate function is generated that is a function of a number of iterations. A number of test iterations and a passing error rate are determined using the error rate function. One or more storage media are tested using the LDPC code, the number of test iterations, and the passing error rate.
Claims21
A system for testing, comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a non-transitory memory coupled with the processor, wherein the non-transitory memory is configured to provide the processor with instructions which when executed cause the processor to:
- receive a low-density parity-check (LDPC) code;
- for the received LDPC code, generate an error rate function that is a function of a number of iterations;
- determine a number of test iterations and a passing error rate using the error rate function;
- and
- test one or more storage media using the LDPC code, the number of test iterations, and the passing error rate.
A computer program product for testing, the computer program product being embodied in a non-transitory computer readable storage medium and comprising computer instructions for:
- receiving a low-density parity-check (LDPC) code;
- for the received LDPC code, generating an error rate function that is a function of a number of iterations;
- determining a number of test iterations and a passing error rate using the error rate function;
- and
- testing one or more storage media using the LDPC code, the number of test iterations, and the passing error rate.
A method for testing, comprising:
- receiving a low-density parity-check (LDPC) code;
- for the received LDPC code, using a processor to generate an error rate function that is a function of a number of iterations;
- using the processor to determine a number of test iterations and a passing error rate using the error rate function;
- and
- testing one or more storage media using the LDPC code, the number of test iterations, and the passing error rate.
