Abstract
The invention relates to methods of treating neurological disorders in a subject, by activating a DISC1 pathway. Methods of promoting neurogenesis in adult neural progenitor cells, enhancing nerve generation and treating GSK3 disorders as well as related compositions are also provided.
Claims9
A composition comprising a DISC1 pathway activator, and optionally comprising a linker molecule, a detectable moiety, a fatty acid, or a heterologous protein sequence, and a carrier, wherein the DISC1 pathway activator is a DISC1 fragment selected from human DISC1 peptide 2 consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 8, mouse DISC1 peptide 2 consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 2, human DISC1 peptide 3 consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 9 and mouse DISC1 peptide 3 consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 10.
A polypeptide comprising a DISC1 fragment, and optionally comprising a linker molecule, a detectable moiety, a fatty acid, or a heterologous protein sequence, wherein the DISC1 fragment is selected from the group consisting of human DISC1 peptide 2 consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 8, mouse DISC1 peptide 2 consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 2, human DISC1 peptide 3 consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 9 and mouse DISC1 peptide 3 consisting of SEQ ID NO:
- 10.
