Abstract
The invention provides compositions, methods and kits for the removal of harmful or irritating substances from bodily surfaces. Kits may include a composition containing capsaicin and a capsaicin-cleansing composition, e.g., a composition in which capsaicin is soluble.
Claims14
A method for removing capsaicin from a bodily surface comprising:
- topically applying a surfactant-free gel composition to the bodily surface, the bodily surface having capsaicin thereon;
- wiping the surfactant-free composition off the bodily surface after the surfactant-free gel composition has been on the bodily surface for one minute, sufficient to solubilize at least 10% w/w of the capsaicin,
- wherein the surfactant-free gel composition comprises 80-90 percent w/w polyethylene glycol.
