A polymerizable liquid crystal compound represented by formula (I):

• where R0 and R1 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, or C1-4 alkyl group which may have at least one substituent;
• L0 and L1 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, or C1-4 alkyl group which may have at least one substituent;
• A0 and A1 each independently represent a divalent linking group having a 5- to 12-membered cyclic structure which may have at least one substituent;
• B0 and B1 each independently represent a single bond or a divalent linking group having a 5- to 12-membered cyclic structure which may have at least one substituent;
• D0 and D1 each independently represent —O—, —S—, or —NR2— where R2 represents a hydrogen atom or C1-3 alkyl group;
• X0 and X1 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, acyl group or cyano;
• Y0 and Y1 each independently represent a single bond, —O—, —S—, —OCO—, —COO—, —OCOO—, —NR3CO—, —CONR3—, —OCONR3—, —NR3COO—, —NR3CONR3—, —C═N— or —N═C— where R3 represents a hydrogen atom or C1-3 alkyl group;
• Q0 and Q1 each independently represent a C1-20 divalent aliphatic group which may have at least one substituent;
• provided that one —CH2— or two or more —CH2—, which may be not adjacent to each other, may be replaced with —O—, —S—, —NR4—, —OCO—, —COO—, —OCOO—, —NR4CO—, or —CONR4—;
• R4 represents a hydrogen atom or C1-3 alkyl group;
• Z0 and Z1 each independently represent a hydrogen atom, cyano, halogen atom or polymerizable group;
• and n and m each independently represent an integer of from 0 to 2.
