Abstract
A lock for an injection device including a threaded rod, wherein the lock includes one of an anti-rotation or claw-type securing element engageable in cooperative anti-rotation elements or claws of the injection device to prevent rotation of the threaded rod relative to the injection device.
Claims18
An injection device, comprising:
- one or more co-operating mating stops;
- a dose setting element;
- a threaded rod coupled to the dose setting element, the threaded rod comprising a claw lock projecting from the threaded rod and configured to locate in the one or more co-operating mating stops;
- wherein to set a dose, the dose setting element is rotated in a dose setting direction;
- wherein during administration of the dose, the dose setting element rotates in a direction opposite the dose setting direction to advance the threaded rod to administer the dose;
- and
- wherein during setting and administering of the dose, the claw lock and the one or more co-operating mating stops are free of each other, and after administering a last dose available in the injection device, the one or more co-operating mating stops are engaged with the claw lock to prevent further rotation of the threaded rod or dose setting element relative to the injection device such that the injection device can therefore no longer be used.
4 more elements
An injection device, comprising:
- a housing;
- a dose setting element rotatably accommodated in the housing and comprising one or more co-operating mating stops;
- a spring disposed between the housing and the dose setting element;
- a threaded rod coupled to the dose setting element, the threaded rod having two ends, one of which is a proximal end closer to the dose setting element than the other end;
- a claw lock projecting from the threaded rod and configured to locate in the one or more co-operating mating stops of the dose setting element, wherein the claw lock is at the end of the threaded rod that is closer to the dose setting element;
- wherein to set a dose, the dose setting element is rotated in a dose setting direction, tensing the spring;
- wherein during administration of the dose, the spring rotates the dose setting element in a direction opposite the dose setting direction to advance the threaded rod;
- and
- wherein during setting and administering of the dose, the claw lock and the one or more co-operating mating stops are not in engagement, and after administering a last dose available in the injection device, at which time the rod is in a distal-most position, the one or more co-operating mating stops are engaged with the claw lock to prevent any further rotating of the dose setting element such that the injection device can therefore no longer be used.
