Abstract
The present invention provides a lockable eyewear display system. One embodiment of the system includes a support frame on which the eyewear is placed, a lock that secures the eyewear to the frame, and a key that removes the lock from the frame. The device may further include an anchor connected to the frame that anchors the frame to a fixture or display object such as a rack or furniture. In another embodiment, the eyewear display device includes an articulating joint allowing at least a portion of the support frame to be swiveled.
Claims7
A rotatable eyewear display assembly comprising:
- a longitudinally-extending stationary spine having an anchor attachable to a display object, the stationary spine including a collar defining a socket;
- a longitudinally-extending movable spine configured to support an eyeglass frame, the movable spine including a sleeve having a portion rotatably received in the socket of the collar providing articulating movement of the movable spine with respect to the stationary spine;
- a pin inserted through the sleeve and collar to rotatably couple the movable spine to the stationary spine, the pin including a pair of spaced-apart resilient prongs engaging a ledge formed in the socket of the collar for locking the pin in the collar and sleeve:
- a lock axially attachable to an end of the movable spine, the lock including a curved lockbar insertable through an opening in the movable spine so as to form a closed loop for locking eyeglass frames therein when the lock is attached to the movable pine;
- and
- the movable spine includes a pair of spaced apart resilient cantilever beams having flanges operably engaged with corresponding locking surfaces disposed in a central passageway extending through the lock such that the lock cannot be removed from the movable spine.
