Abstract
An apparatus comprising a controller. The controller includes an input/output (I/O) module and a rule module. The I/O module is configured to present a question for a patient when communicatively coupled to a user interface and receive patient information in response to the question via the user interface. The rule module is configured to apply a rule to the patient information and generate a suggested insulin pump setting from application of the rule. Other devices, systems, and methods are disclosed.
Claims6
A device comprising:
- a controller including:
- an input/output (I/O) module configured to:
- present a question about patient information, including at least one of health information, lifestyle information, or demographic information, for a patient when communicatively coupled to a user interface;
- and
- receive patient information in response to the question via the user interface;
- a rule module configured to:
- apply a rule to the patient information, wherein the rule comprises a decision tree, look-up table or formula;
- and
- generate a device determined pump setting from application of the rule;
- and
- a rule editor that edits existing rules in addition to editing new rules and is configured to receive modifications to the rule via the I/O module;
- and
- a memory communicatively coupled to the controller for storing parameters associated with an initial pump setup.
