Abstract
In one embodiment, a motor drive is provided that includes a control board and an option board coupled to the control board via a serial interface, wherein the option board includes a configurable data transfer rate. A method of operating a motor drive that includes configuring a transfer rate of an option board coupled to a control board via a serial interface. A tangible machine-readable medium implementing the method is also provided.
Claims18
A motor drive, comprising:
- a control circuit configured to control operation of a single electric motor;
- a plurality of functional circuits supported separately from the control circuit and from one another, and each coupled to the control circuit via a respective dedicated serial interface, wherein each of the functional circuits comprises a configurable data transfer rate, and wherein the data transfer rate for data transfer from each of the functional circuits to the control circuit is independently configurable for controlling operation of the single electric motor.
A method of operating a motor drive, comprising:
- transferring data at user configurable data transfer rates from a plurality of different functional circuits each separately supported from the control circuit and coupled to the control circuit via respective dedicated serial interfaces, wherein the control circuit is configured to control operation of a single electric motor.
A motor drive, comprising:
- a control circuit configured to control operation of a single electric motor;
- a plurality of functional circuits each coupled to the control circuit via a respective dedicated multi-channel serial interface, wherein a data transfer rate for data transfer from each of the functional circuits to the control circuit, and for each channel of each serial interface is independently configurable.
