Abstract
This invention relates generally to biosensor technology, and pertains more particularly to novel multifunctional biosensors based on ordered arrays of metallic, semiconductors and magnetic nano-islands for medical, biological, biochemical, chemical and environmental applications.
Claims16
A sandwich device for a diagnostic nanosensor, the device comprising:
- a) a deposition, via a mask of polystyrene or silica particles, of nanopatterned metal, semiconductors and/or magnetic-islands that form nanostructures on a non-planar, nontransparent substrate and;
- b) a deposition of bio-organic interactive material on the nanostructures wherein a) and b) form said sandwich device for interacting with organic or inorganic targets, and for assembly on a spring wire, a catheter material or stent material.
A diagnostic nanosensor comprising:
- metallic nanoislands or nanosized metal particles;
- and
- at least one bio-organic interactive material, wherein said at least one bio-organic interactive material is deposited on said metallic nanoislands or nanosized metal particles to form a sandwich device for interacting with organic or inorganic targets, wherein the nanosensor is assembled on a biocompatible support, wherein the biocompatible support is a spring wire, a catheter material or stent material, and wherein the metallic nanoislands or nanosized metal particles are distributed in a hexagonal geometry.
