Abstract
A titania nanotube suitable as an optical sensor or gas sensor is provided. The titania nanotube has a length of 1 μm or more; preferably a diameter of 0.1 μm or less and an aspect ratio of 100 or more.

A titania nanotube having a length of 10 μm or more.
A method for producing a titania nanotube, comprising a step of dispersing a titania powder in a sodium hydroxide aqueous solution at a temperature of 60° C. or more so as to form a titania nanotube having a length of 10 μm or more.
