Abstract
The invention provides novel combination therapies for treating neurodegenerative disease which comprise a) neurotrophic factors or suitable fragments thereof and b) agents capable of causing inhibition of a gene responsible for the neurodegenerative disease. The invention provides novel nucleic acid sequences, methods, and systems suitable for applications of these combination therapies.

A first nucleic acid sequence comprising:
- a second nucleic acid sequence encoding a neurotrophic factor or a functional fragment thereof;
- and
- a third nucleic acid sequence encoding an RNAi agent capable of inhibiting expression of a gene involved in a neurodegenerative disease, wherein the RNAi agent comprises a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs:
- 1-15 and 42-69.

A method of treating a neurodegenerative disease in a patient comprising administering to said patient:
- an RNAi agent capable of inhibiting expression of a gene involved in a neurodegenerative disease;
- and
- at least one of a neurotrophic factor or a functional fragment thereof, wherein the RNAi agent comprises a sequence selected from the group consisting of SEQ ID NOs:
- 1-15 and 42-69.
