Abstract
A molecular sieve comprises at least one intergrown phase of an AFX framework-type molecular sieve and a CHA framework-type molecular sieve and is conveniently synthesized using a combination of N,N,N′N′-tetramethylhexane-1,6-diamine and N,N-dimethylcyclohexylamine as organic directing agents.
Claims18
A method of synthesizing a molecular sieve comprising at least one intergrown phase of an AFX framework-type molecular sieve inserted along the hexagonal axis into at least one intergrown phase of a CHA framework-type molecular sieve, the method comprising:
- (a) preparing a reaction mixture comprising sources of alumina, phosphorus, and, optionally, silica and further comprising at least one first organic directing agent for directing the synthesis of an AFX framework-type molecular sieve and at least one second organic directing agent for directing the synthesis of a CHA framework-type molecular sieve;
- (b) maintaining said reaction mixture under conditions sufficient to form crystals of said molecular sieve;
- and
- (c) recovering said molecular sieve comprising at least one intergrown phase of an AFX framework-type molecular sieve inserted along the hexagonal axis into at least one intergrown phase of a CHA framework-type molecular sieve.
An organic compound conversion process comprising contacting an organic compound under conversion conditions with a catalyst comprising a molecular sieve comprising at least one intergrown phase of an AFX framework-type molecular sieve inserted along the hexagonal axis into at least one intergrown phase of a CHA framework-type molecular sieve.
