Abstract

A coating composition for a food or beverage can that includes an emulsion polymerized latex polymer formed by combining an ethylenically unsaturated monomer component with an aqueous dispersion of a water-dispersible polymer.

Dependent claims

An article comprising:

a body portion or an end portion of a food or beverage can comprising a metal substrate;
and
a coating composition disposed on an inside surface thereon, wherein the coating composition includes an emulsion polymerized latex polymer, and wherein the emulsion polymerized latex polymer comprises a reaction product of an ethylenically unsaturated monomer component polymerized in the presence of an aqueous dispersion of a polyurethane resin.
