Abstract
A light emitting device package comprises: a substrate; first and second conduction members on the substrate; a light emitting diode on the substrate, the light emitting diode being electrically connected with the first and second conduction members; and a phosphor layer on the light emitting diode.

A light emitting device, comprising:
- a light emitting diode (LED);
- and
- a phosphor layer on a top surface of the LED, the phosphor layer including a series of parallel ridges and valleys having a first height and second height different from each other patterned in a top surface of the phosphor layer,
- wherein the ridge and the valley have flat surfaces,
- wherein an uppermost point of each of the ridges of the phosphor layer has a predetermined height above the top surface of the LED, and
- wherein the parallel ridges include parallel convex ridges.

- a light emitting diode (LED);
- and
- a phosphor layer on a top surface of the LED, the phosphor layer including a series of parallel ridges and valleys having a first height and second height different from each other patterned in a top surface of the phosphor layer,
- wherein the valleys of the phosphor layer contain no phosphor material.
