Abstract
A microfluidic circuit comprising microchannels (24, 26) containing different fluids (F1, F2), with a laser beam being focused at (32) on an interface (30) between the fluids so as to form a pump, a valve, or a mixer, for example.
Claims12
A microfluidic circuit comprising at least one microchannel containing a first fluid and at least one means for focusing a laser beam, the microchannel being formed in a material that is transparent to said laser beam, wherein the laser beam is focused on an interface between said first fluid and a second fluid which is present at least locally in said microchannel, the laser beam being configured and arranged to heat locally the interface between the fluids to cause one of the fluids to move by thermocapillary convection.
