Threshold search failure analysis

A computer program product encoded on one or more machine-readable storage media, the computer program product comprising:

• a first sequence of instructions, stored in at least one machine-readable storage media, executable by at least one processing unit to execute a code development option having a particular value of a value range on a given code, the execution resulting in an error;
• a second sequence of instructions, stored in the at least one machine-readable storage media, executable by the at least one processing unit to search the value range for a threshold that corresponds to the error by executing the code development option having the selected subranges on the given code and determining whether the execution results in results in the error;
• and
• a third sequence of instructions, stored in the at least one machine-readable storage media, executable by the at least one processing unit to record and indicate a first value of the selected subranges that when the code development option having the first value is executed on the given code the error does not occur as a result.

An apparatus comprising:

• a set of one or more central processing units (CPUs);
• and
• a set of instructions, stored in at least one machine readable storage media, executable by the set of one or more processing units to
• execute a code development option having a particular value of a value range on a given code, execution of the code development option having the particular value resulting in an error,
• automatically select subranges of the value range, utilizing at least one processing unit, to determine a threshold within the value range that corresponds to the error by executing the code development option having the selected subranges on the given code and determining whether the execution results in the error;
• and
• record, in at least one machine-readable storage media, and indicate a first value of the selected subranges that when the code development option having the first value is executed on the given code the error does not occur as a result.
