Abstract
A method for automatically detecting a collimation edge or region includes reading an image captured by an X-ray imaging system, detecting intersection points between a foreground and a background and between a foreground and a tissue on the X-ray image, and performing a Hough transform or Radon transform on the detected intersection points to form collimation edge lines interconnecting the foreground and the background, and the foreground and the tissue, respectively.
Claims26
A method of automatically detecting a collimation edge, comprising:
- reading an image captured by an X-ray imaging system;
- detecting intersection points between a foreground and a background and between a foreground and a tissue on the X-ray image, wherein detecting the intersection points comprises detecting the intersection points row by row from left to right and then from right to left for the image, and detecting the intersection points column by column from top to bottom and then from bottom to top for the image;
- and
- performing a Hough transform or Radon transform on the detected intersection points to obtain collimation edge lines between the foreground and the background, and the foreground and the tissue, respectively.
An apparatus for automatically detecting a collimation edge, comprising:
- a read module for reading an image captured by an X-ray imaging system;
- a detection module for detecting intersection points between a foreground and a background and between a foreground and a tissue on the X-ray image, the detection module being configured to detect the intersection points by detecting the intersection points row by row from left to right and then from right to left for the image, and detecting the intersection points column by column from top to bottom and then from bottom to top for the image;
- and
- a transform module performing a Hough transform or Radon transform on the detected intersection points to form collimation edge lines interconnecting the foreground and the background, and the foreground and the tissue, respectively.
A device for automatically detecting a collimation edge, comprising:
- means for reading an image captured by an X-ray imaging system;
- means for detecting intersection points between a foreground and a background and between a foreground and a tissue on the X-ray image by detecting the intersection points row by row from left to right and then from right to left for the imagine, and detecting the intersection points column by column from top to bottom and then bottom to top for the image;
- and
- means for performing a Hough transform or Radon transform on the detected intersection points to obtain collimation edge lines between the foreground and the background, and the foreground and the tissue, respectively.
