Abstract
A liquid crystal panel according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes a substrate, and a pixel electrode arranged on the substrate. The pixel electrode includes a first subpixel electrode and a second subpixel electrode separated from each other, and the second subpixel electrode includes a first electrode part disposed above the first subpixel electrode and a second electrode part disposed below the first subpixel electrode and connected to the first electrode part. At least one first notch is arranged on at least one edge of the first subpixel electrode or the second subpixel electrode.
Claims26
A liquid crystal panel, comprising:
- a first substrate and a second substrate facing each other;
- a pixel electrode disposed on the first substrate;
- a common electrode arranged on the second substrate;
- and
- an alignment layer arranged on at least one of the pixel electrode and the common electrode,
- wherein at least one first notch is arranged at a corner of the pixel electrode where two edges of the pixel electrode meet at a point,
- the first notch comprises only two sides meeting at a point,
- the first notch comprises a size in a range of 3 μm by 3 μm to 15 μm by 15 μm, and
- the alignment layer comprises a light reactive material.
A liquid crystal display, comprising:
- a first substrate;
- a pixel electrode arranged on the first substrate;
- a second substrate facing the first substrate;
- a common electrode arranged on the second substrate;
- an alignment layer arranged on at least one of the pixel electrode and the common electrode, the alignment layer comprising a light reactive material;
- and
- a liquid crystal layer interposed between the pixel electrode and the common electrode and comprising liquid crystal molecules,
- wherein the pixel electrode comprises a plurality of sub-regions,
- a tilt direction of a liquid crystal molecule corresponding to a sub-region of the plurality of sub-regions is different from a tilt direction of a liquid crystal molecule corresponding to another sub-region of the plurality of sub-regions, and
- a first notch is disposed at a first point of an edge of the pixel electrode, the edge of the pixel electrode and a boundary line between the sub-regions meeting at the first point.
A liquid crystal panel, comprising:
- a substrate;
- and
- a pixel electrode disposed on the substrate, the pixel electrode comprising a first subpixel electrode and a second subpixel electrode separated from each other,
- wherein at least one first notch is arranged on at least one outer edge of the first subpixel electrode or the second subpixel electrode,
- the first notch comprises only two sides meeting at a point and forming a right angle, and
- the first notch has a size in a range of 3 μm by 3 μm to 15 μm by 15 μm.
