Claims24
An implantable or insertable medical device that comprises a conductive substrate and a cathodically electrodeposited coating over the substrate, said electrodeposited coating comprising a conductive polymer and a cationic polyelectrolyte, wherein (a) the conductive polymer is covalently linked to the cationic polyelectrolyte or (b) the electrodeposited coating comprises nanoparticles that comprise said conductive polymer, and wherein the conductive polymer is selected from the group consisting of polyaniline, poly(phenylene vinylene), polypyrrole, polythiophene, and derivatives and copolymers of the same.
An implantable or insertable medical device that comprises a conductive substrate and a cathodically electrodeposited coating over the substrate, said electrodeposited coating comprising a conductive polymer and a cationic polyelectrolyte, wherein (a) the conductive polymer is covalently linked to the cationic polyelectrolyte or (b) the electrodeposited coating comprises nanoparticles that comprise said conductive polymer, and wherein the conductive polymer is selected from the group consisting of poly(3-alkyl pyrrole), polythiophene, poly(3-alkyl thiophene), polyaniline, poly(aniline-co-2-anisidine), poly(phenylene vinylene) and poly(bis-(dialkylamino)phenylene vinylene).
An implantable or insertable medical device that comprises a conductive substrate and a cathodically electrodeposited coating over the substrate, said electrodeposited coating comprising a conductive polymer and a cationic polyelectrolyte, wherein (a) the conductive polymer is covalently linked to the cationic polyelectrolyte or (b) the electrodeposited coating comprises nanoparticles that comprise said conductive polymer, and wherein the conductive polymer is selected from the group consisting of polypyrrole and poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT).
An implantable or insertable medical device that comprises a conductive substrate and a cathodically electrodeposited coating over the substrate, said electrodeposited coating comprising a conductive polymer and a cationic polyelectrolyte, wherein the electrodeposited coating comprises nanoparticles that comprise said conductive polymer, and wherein said nanoparticles are selected from polypyrrole nanoparticles, polythiophene nanoparticles, polyaniline nanoparticles, poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) nanoparticles, and combinations thereof.
