Abstract
A method of controlling fuel injection in an engine of a vehicle comprising of deactivating a fuel injector of the engine during a deceleration condition of the vehicle; and reactivating the fuel injector when a rate of change of a powertrain shaft deceleration is greater than a threshold.
Claims7
A method of controlling fuel injection in an engine of a vehicle comprising:
- transmitting engine output to vehicle wheels via a transmission with a plurality of selectable discrete gear ratios;
- deactivating a fuel injector of the engine during a deceleration condition of the vehicle;
- and
- reactivating the fuel injector when a rate of change of a powertrain shaft deceleration is greater than a threshold, the threshold set as a function of a current gear.
1 more element
A method of controlling fuel injection in an engine of a vehicle comprising:
- deactivating a fuel injector of the engine during a deceleration condition of the vehicle;
- and
- reactivating the fuel injector when a rate of change of transmission output shaft speed is below a threshold, the threshold adjusted as a function of anti-lock braking system functionality.
A method of controlling fuel injection in an engine of a vehicle having a transmission, comprising:
- deactivating a fuel injector of the engine during a deceleration condition of the vehicle;
- and
- reactivating the fuel injector when a rate of change of a powertrain shaft deceleration is greater than a threshold, the threshold set as a function of a ratio of an engine speed to a transmission output shaft speed.
