Abstract
Systems and methods for touchscreen security gateways are described, wherein a mechanical lock simulation is presented and operated by the user of a touchscreen interface. Comparisons between entered and stored combinations may be processed and/or stored utilizing local or remote processing and/or storage resources. The mechanical lock aspect of the user interface may comprise simulated rotating elements that may be operated by user-induced sliding interactions upon the user interface. Several aspects of the mechanical lock simulation may be customized or programmed by the user, and the presentation of the user interface operation to the user may include audible and/or haptic feedback.
Claims44
A data security gateway system, comprising:
- a user interface displayable on a device including a touchscreen;
- a processor;
- and
- a storage device;
- wherein the processor is configured to generate the user interface comprising a mechanical combination lock simulation comprising one or more simulated rotating elements, each simulated rotating element having one or more selectable positions spaced apart about a geometry of the rotating element, the user interface being displayable to a user of the device and operable by the user engaging the touchscreen to manipulate the user interface and enter a gateway combination comprising respective data of respective simulated rotating elements;
- identify a simulated rotating element having a position that is misaligned following manipulation of the simulated rotating element by the user, resolve the misalignment by determining a proper position of the misaligned simulated rotating element and data associated with the determined proper position, and execute a comparison of the entered gateway combination including the determined data with at least one value stored upon the storage device, to determine whether access to further information shall be granted or not.
A computer-implemented method for providing conditional access to remotely-located secure data, comprising:
- capturing a gateway combination entered by user manipulating a user interface displayed on a touchscreen, the user interface comprising a mechanical combination lock simulation including one or more simulated rotating elements, each simulated rotating element having one or more selectable positions spaced apart about a geometry of the rotating element and comprising respective data;
- identifying a simulated rotating element having a position that is misaligned following manipulation of the simulated rotating element by the user;
- resolving the misalignment by determining a proper position of the misaligned stimulated rotating element and data associated with the determined proper position;
- and
- comparing the gateway combination including the determined data with at least one value stored upon a storage device, to determine whether access to further information shall be granted or not.
A data security gateway system, comprising:
- a user interface displayable on a device including a touchscreen a processor;
- and
- a storage device;
- wherein the processor is configured to generate the user interface comprising a mechanical combination lock simulation comprising one or more simulated rotating elements, the user interface being displayable to a user and operable by the user engaging the touchscreen to manipulate the user interface and enter a gateway combination comprising respective data of respective simulated rotating elements, the processor and the user interface being configured to
- interpret alignment of a touchpath resulting from a dragging or sliding action upon the touchscreen relative to a rotational plane of a simulated rotating element,
- determine that the touchpath is misaligned relative to the rotational plane,
- resolve the misaligned touchpath based at least in part upon a component of the misaligned touchpath in alignment with the rotational plane, and
- execute a comparison of the entered gateway combination including gateway combination data determined based at least in part upon the resolved misaligned touchpath with at least one value stored upon the storage device, to determine whether access to further information shall be granted or not.
