Abstract
A printing device has an image receptor adapted to have an image formed thereon. The printing device also includes a transfer roller and a motor. A transfer roller load mechanism moves the transfer roller into contact with the image receptor in response to the motor output. A controller manipulates the motor in conjunction with a feedback signal from a load detector and regulates the load of the transfer roller.
Claims4
A transfer roller feedback system, comprising:
- a motor;
- a transfer roller movable by the motor to contact an image receptor with a pressure;
- and
- a feedback system to control the pressure by controlling the motor, the feedback system comprising:
- a displacement sensor arranged to detect a displacement between the transfer roller and the image receptor, wherein the displacement sensor is attached to one of either a flexure aim or a sector gear;
- and
- a controller to receive the displacement, adjust a motor control signal based upon the displacement, and then transmit the motor control signal to the motor.
