Abstract
A device for treating liquid medium has an ultrasound emitter located relative to a compartment of a container holding a liquid medium and a microbubble emitter located relative to the compartment. The ultrasound emitter emits high-frequency ultrasound between about 200 KHz and 10 MHz. The microbubble emitter emits bubbles with an average diameter of less than 1 mm.
Claims11
A method for treating human or animal cells displaying a hyperproliferative effect comprising:
- providing a liquid medium containing said human or animal cells displaying a hyperproliferative effect;
- injecting gas comprising microbubbles and high frequency ultrasound into the liquid medium, said high frequency ultrasound being between about 200 kHz and 10 MHz, wherein exposure to the gas and high frequency ultrasound inhibits a recovery threshold of the human or animal cells displaying a hyperproliferative effect.
