Compounds that inhibit (block) bitter taste in composition and use thereof

A compound of the formula:

• a salt or N-oxide thereof,
• wherein:
• R61 is H, alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl, arylalkyl, substituted arylalkyl, acyl, substituted acyl, heteroalkyl, substituted heteroalkyl, heteroaryl, substituted heteroaryl, heteroarylalkyl or substituted heteroarylalkyl;
• R62 and R63 are the same or different independently one from the other, H, alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl, arylalkyl, substituted arylalkyl, acyl, substituted acyl, heteroalkyl, substituted heteroalkyl, heteroaryl, substituted heteroaryl, heteroarylalkyl or substituted heteroarylalkyl, with the proviso that when one of R62 or R63 is H, then the other of R62 or R63 is not H;
• or R62 and R63, together with the atoms to which they are attached form a cycloalkyl, a substituted cycloalkyl, a cycloheteroalkyl or substituted cycloheteroalkyl ring;
• or
• R61 and R62, together with the atoms to which they are attached, form a five- or six-membered cycloheteroalkyl or substituted cycloheteroalkyl ring.

A compound of the formula:

• a salt or N-oxide thereof,
• wherein:
• R64 and R65 are the same or different independently one from the other, H, alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl, arylalkyl, substituted arylalkyl, acyl, substituted acyl, heteroalkyl, substituted heteroalkyl, heteroaryl, substituted heteroaryl, heteroarylalkyl or substituted heteroarylalkyl, with the proviso that when one of R64 or R65 is H, then the other of R64 or R65 is not H;
• or R64 and R65, together with the atoms to which they are attached, form a cycloalkyl, a substituted cycloalkyl, a cycloheteroalkyl or substituted cycloheteroalkyl ring;
• each R66 is independently hydrogen, alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl, arylalkyl, substituted arylalkyl, acyl, substituted acyl, heteroalkyl, substituted heteroalkyl, heteroaryl, substituted heteroaryl, heteroarylalkyl, substituted heteroarylalkyl, F, Cl, —CN, —NO2, —OR67, —S(O)iR67, —NR67R68, —CONR67R68, —CO2R67, —NR67CO2R68, —NR67CONR68R69, —NR67CSNR68R69 or —NR67C(═NH)NR68R69, —SO2NR67R68, —NR67SO2R68, —NR67SO2NR68R69, —B(OR67)(OR68), —P(O)(OR67)(OR68), or —P(O)(R67)(OR68), wherein R67, R68, and R69 are independently hydrogen, alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl, arylalkyl, substituted arylalkyl, heteroalkyl, substituted heteroalkyl, heteroaryl, substituted heteroaryl, heteroarylalkyl or substituted heteroarylalkyl or alternatively, R67 and R68 or R68 and R69, together with the atoms to which they are attached form a cycloheteroalkyl or substituted cycloheteroalkyl ring;
• Ar10 is an aryl or heteroaryl ring;
• g is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4;
• h is 0, 1, 2, 3 or 4;
• and
• i is 0, 1 or 2.

A compound of the formula:

• a salt or N-oxide thereof,
• wherein:
• each R70 is independently hydrogen, alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl, arylalkyl, substituted arylalkyl, acyl, substituted acyl, heteroalkyl, substituted heteroalkyl, heteroaryl, substituted heteroaryl, heteroarylalkyl, substituted heteroarylalkyl, F, Cl, —CN, —NO2, —OR67, —S(O)iR67, —NR67R68, —CONR67R68, —CO2R67, —NR67CO2R68, —NR67CONR68R69, —NR67CSNR68R69 or —NR67C(═NH)NR68R69, —SO2NR67R68, —NR67SO2R68, —NR67SO2NR68R69, —B(OR67)(OR68), —P(O)(OR67)(OR68), or —P(O)(R67)(OR68), wherein R67, R68, and R69 are independently hydrogen, alkyl, substituted alkyl, aryl, substituted aryl, arylalkyl, substituted arylalkyl, heteroalkyl, substituted heteroalkyl, heteroaryl, substituted heteroaryl, heteroarylalkyl or substituted heteroarylalkyl or alternatively, R67 and R68 or R68 and R69, together with the atoms to which they are attached form a cycloheteroalkyl or substituted cycloheteroalkyl ring;
• j is 0, 1 or 2;
• k is 0, 1 or 2;
• and
• l is 0, 1 or 2;
• with the proviso that j and k are not simultaneously both 0.
